In recent times, it has become of greater importance to me, that my artwork makes a difference to the subjects that I paint. I began making donations from my prints to support charities not only because I am passionate about wildlife and want to help, but also to support the wonderful folks around me who really make things happen. These are the real heroes who work hard, and promote messages to protect the wildlife and the environment that enables it to flourish.
A very good friend of mine, James Elliott aka The Canoe River Cleaner is one of those people I would like to mention, who works extremely hard in creating and promoting a healthy river environment. His tagline - 'It's All About The Flow', seeks to educate folks, including the younger generation, on the importance of river health, and reducing debris to encourage flow, which in turn helps the wildlife. Not only does James help the river, but he promotes good mental health and how nature has a positive impact on our wellbeing.
James has devoted many hours to cleaning his local river, along with the support of local people and businesses, and even offers personal canoe trips to promote the mental health aspect. If you would like to find out more about the wonderful work of Jim, or get involved, please contact him here.
